Ten children from Year 5 were invited to participate in an Olympic themed decathlon event on Monday at St Andrews Prep School. On a hot day our children took part in Hockey, Fencing and a Cricket skill sessions in the morning. After a much needed BBQ lunch our children were divided into 5 teams, (colours representing the 5 rings), and competed against one another in a Sporting Decathlon events ranging from Long Jump, High Jump to Hurdles and 200 metre races. The School Council and Science Green Team have been diligently preparing for our World Record attempt next Wednesday. We will be part of an attempt to launch the most recycled plastic boats simultaneously. We fully believe in ridding the ocean of all plastic waste and this will help to raise the profile. The children in Year 3 have been enjoying the re-vamped summer house outside the mobile classrooms. Mrs (and Mr) Howard have transformed the old reception playhouse that was due to be demolished into a fabulous quiet reading space for Year 3 pupils. Each afternoon, top readers can enjoy some quiet time snuggled up with a book, with no interruptions!

A fantastic whole school event today involved all children and staff running to raise money for cancer. The Race for Life course was across all playgrounds, tracks and the field. The cake sale and sponge throwing was great fun in the sunshine after school. Well done everyone!

Our football team made it through to the Eastbourne Primary School Association League Final for the second consecutive year by defeating The Haven this afternoon 7-0 in the semi final. Today was a very exciting day for a group of hard working children who took part in the local 'Eastbourne in Bloom' competition. Our winning team got to be the first to go and see their design brought to life in this beautiful flower bed, and even put the finishing touches to the design by planting the final flowers.
