The children and their families in Year 3 had the chance to be creative together this past week! On huge canvases, all manner of materials were being ripped, glued, painted and stuck down to create some amazing collage pieces. They will be on show soon!
The Year 4, the core text this term has been "The Paperbag Prince" by Colin Thompson. There has been some amazing home learning taking place. Poppy has created this "sweet" model of the front page! How creative is this?! Brilliant work.
Mr Bowles and Mrs Compton were invited by video link to learn about how some of our children are engaging in the outdoors! The children taught us to safely make a fire, sharpen a fork from wood and we had a tour of the outside den making and gardening area. We very much enjoyed the hot chocolate and "Smores". On Monday, Year 6 met Hairy Jack (an infamous Hastings smuggler) who gave us a tour around the St Clement's Caves, showing us how they were used and giving us top smugglers tips! We ducked through tunnels, learnt about why smuggling became popular, what was smuggled and how - and we even learnt about the punishment if you were found to be a smuggler!
