The whole school took part in a charity event raising money for Hand on Heart – saving children’s lives with defibrillators. We rowed over 54,000 kilometres in total!! The pupils loved trying another way to stay active and healthy. Good luck Mr Field and Mr Dawson who will be kayaking 30 km in the Summer with their Pier to Pier challenge!
Today was the day that we could finally unveil our brand, spanking new outside gym. The new PTA body have worked so hard for 18 months now and this is a fantastic gesture for us and our children. Of course, thank you all for every penny raised at the Christmas Fairs, Mufti Days and all PTA events. All 90 Year 6 children are currently at Eastbourne seafront, enjoying the beautiful views. We are observing the human and physical features, ready to compare them to the Jurassic Coast in our next Geography lesson.
We’ve also eaten our lunch here, competed in the furthest stone throwing championship and ran away from the incoming tide. No wet shoes yet although Miss Post did an impressive roll down the stones - not intentionally!
On Tuesday night, Year 1 teachers hosted a well being 'get together' event with a dash of phonics. Fun games were played, building towers, speed talking and delicious homemade cake along with scones, jam and clotted cream were enjoyed by all! Enya from African Elephant class has adopted her very own African Elephant! We hoped to raise the profile of conservation of our great planet this year with our classroom themes about "Endangered Species". Enya as part of her creative learning during the topic that centres around "The Last Wolf" has saved up and is doing her bit to save this amazing species. Well done Enya, we are proud of you!

Our wonderful new interactive learning area for our Reception cohort is open! We are very thankful to our multi academy trust SWALE for this amazing investment. The children have been exploring on the new climbing area, riding and running around the mini track and using the new reading area. More action shots to come!!
Our Change Team meets to discuss all aspects of Health and Wellbeing at Langney. On Monday, we met and talked about Wellbeing areas, Pabulum caterers, Try it Tuesday and Healthy Packed Lunchboxes. Today, Year 3 ventured out to Drusillas to continue our learning on endangered animals. We had a jam-packed day full of lots of fun activities. We went on some exciting rides, became expert animal spotters and tried out our skills in the Zoo-Olympics! We saw lots of animals, including penguins, sleepy sloths and LOTS of monkeys.
