Mr Field received his awards tonight at the prestigious "Sussex Teacher of the Year" ceremony. It was a prestigious virtual ceremony that was attended by his family, friends and colleagues. We are so proud of Mr Field!!!!! Mr Field picked up the regional sports teacher of the year award and the OVERALL SUSSEX SPORTS TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2020!!! These are fully deserved and all staff had the chance to surprise and hear Mr Field's nomination in full earlier this month. Mr
A big thank you to our wonderful families for supplying year 4 with a whole wealth of junk for our fab finish. The children impressed us with their imagination and team work skills to create some fantastic models including unicorns, birds a whole jungle and even a fantastic recreation of the junkyard from our core text ‘The Paperbag Prince’. It was rewarding recycling and re-using the junk and being eco-friendly. What a wonderful first term back it’s been!
Y5 made Anglo Saxon brooches using their knowledge of symmetry and the designs that Anglo Saxons would have used to secure their clothing. We missed parents and carers, but still had an amazing afternoon and rounded off Term 1 in fine style.
For Year 1's Fab Finish to round off our term of fairy tales, we had a fairy tale dress up day! The children dressed up as a fairy tale character of their choice and enjoyed a final day of fairy tale learning before moving on to our new topic next term. We enjoyed reading snippets of our favourite stories together.
Children who visited the library this week found it spooky and spine-chilling!! The Halloween display showcased some of our frightening fiction. Mrs Banner read some extracts from Goosebumps and children were so keen to borrow these books!! The next library display in Term 2 will be "A Mystery"......................
Our generous donations at Harvest will provide 315 meals for the families less fortunate in Eastbourne. "Give" and "Connect" are two of our 5 Ways to Wellbeing and we should all feel very proud and positive about our commitments to the local community! Thank you!
Baymax class have been exploring the great outdoors at forest school. Celebrating their topic ‘Who’s Afraid of the Dark?’ Baymax class put on their wellies and coats and went to Langney Priory for forest school. The class got to make a fire, roast smores, crack secret codes of the forests, make boggarts, cobwebs and skeleton art as well as build dens, explore nature, go on a spooky scavenger hunt, play on the tyre swing and much, much more.
Today we learnt in assembly how "Giving" is so important for our own wellbeing as well as helping others. Children generously bought in food this morning that as a school we have donated to Eastbourne Foodbank, including our local Foodbank at Richard's Church. Thank you to all families that donated at this Autumn Harvest time.
Congratulations to Ashleigh, Connor and Kaiden who were randomly drawn from the weekend Beat the Street LPA competition. These children have embodied our "Active Body, Healthy Mind" motto superbly well and it has led to a lead of 42,000 presently in the Eastbourne competition!! GO TEAM LANGNEY!!
Red Riding Hood visits Year 1! She arrived on a rainy Thursday morning absolutely terrified as she had just been scared by the wolf! She told us all about it and we used her experience to do some fabulous descriptive writing!
