On Saturday morning, our girls football team took to the field and for most of the squad had their first experience of playing football in a tournament and representing the school.

Bearing all this in mind, the team surpassed all expectations, finishing a very pleasing 3rd place. They were a credit to the school with their behaviour throughout, excellent effort, sportsmanship and participation.

Langney girls were in fact equal on points with Heron Park on the day, ( head to head Langney won 1-0) but the silver medal was decided on goal difference and so 2nd place went to Heron Park with more goals scored.

The team will now focus on their league matches and with practice sessions planned for after school in Term 2 and continuing in Terms 3 and 4 on a regular basis, the season has a lot to offer and be excited about.
