School Receives £3,300 History Grant!

We are very excited to be able to announce that we have been awarded £3,300 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for our "Celebrating Nelson Victor Carter VC" project! The funding will be used to support these exciting events over the next two years -

1) Nelson's Family Fun Day and Summer Fair

2) The creation of a lasting, interactive and public resource from the work we have produced and the research we have carried out

3) The writing of a book about Nelson, containing children's work and photographs

4) A Langney led workshop with a local author and artist

5) Funded visits by selected children to the Redoubt Fortress and in-school workshops as part of their outreach service

6) After school history and vintage dance clubs

7) A science based project focusing on the brilliant, wacky and just plain ridiculous innovations of the First World War period

8) Opportunities to work with local historians and history groups

We would like to thank you all for supporting our previous projects centered around Nelson Victor Carter and we hope that you will continue to do so as we enter this next exciting stage of our learning!
