Joseph Aukett Art Award
Last week, our children took part in a very special art competition in memory of one of our WW1 soldiers. The theme was 'Memories'. It was so lovely walking round the school and seeing all the art on display. Well done everyone!
And so to this year's winners!!
The judging panel were so impressed with the winners in KS1. Each child produced individual pieces of art and we were so excited to see how they had thought about how memories can bring strong emotions and that they are connected but get mixed up sometimes. Well done to Year 1!
In Key Stage 2, the winners produced two beautiful pieces of art that, though containing individual memories, came together as a class and then as a year group presentation. Lots of emotions here too as some memories were bright and happy, while others used darker colours, portraying sadness. Well done Year 4!!
All the art produced for the Art Award, including the winning pieces, will be on display in the Sports Hall during the Langney Creative Arts Festival on 24 June.
