Year 5 Stunning Start To Their Space Topic
Year 5 had a wonderful surprise after assembly on Friday - they travelled into space!
Herstmonceux Science Centre had brought their planetarium into school which allowed the children to investigate our galaxy as if they were astronauts! The planets zoomed around and the children looked at star constellations and the stories behind them. The children finished by watching Tim Peake's docking with the International Space Station. The children even had to solve problems, just like Tim has too, by making sure they moved inside quickly enough before the inflatable planetarium collapsed! The children had a great morning acting as spacemen and women and are now super excited to continue their space learning in class this term.
A huge thank you to the Friends of Langney who kindly helped to fund this amazing starter. Both staff and children were overwhelmed with this amazing learning experience.
