Let The Battle Commence In Year 2!

As part of Year 2's topic "Let the Battle Commence" the children have been learning all about the Battle of Hastings and the events that led up to it. This historic moment in 1066 was brought to life by taking a trip to Battle Abbey to re-enact the battle that took place there. The children were fully prepared in their Saxon and Norman costumes with their wonderful shields which they designed and made at school.

It really was a lovely trip and watching the children charge down/up the battle field was a real highlight!
