On Thursday, children from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 visited several sites related to Nelson and Joe along the seafront. We visited Nelson's plaque at the Redoubt Gardens, then looked at the Royal Sussex Regiment statue and the War Memorial, before seeing where Nelson lived before the First World War and where both Nelson and Joe were born. We saw that there are a lot more important places for Nelson around the town and thought this is probably because he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
