Hatful of Rain perform at Remembrance
Our school community came together on Friday and Monday for our Remembrance Services. As we commemorated the end of the First World War, we were joined by ex-servicemen, members of Nelson Victor Carter's family and two 'There But Not There' silhouettes.
We were also joined by local band, Hatful of Rain, who played their new single 'Devil's Dyke' about the battle of Boar's Head. We recently collaborated on a music video for the song, which you can see by following this link - www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNx_VJzDdn0.
Thanks must go to all the pupils who took part and to Hatful of Rain, Reverend Wilkinson and George, our bugler from St Catherine's.
Eastbourne Remembers
As some of you have noticed, Heritage Eastbourne, have laid pavement panels around the town for 130 local soldiers. Nelson and Joseph both have panels. If you would like to see them Nelson's is at 33 Grey's Road, Old Town, the home in which he was living before the war. Joseph's is just round the corner on Letheren Place (I could be more specific but where's the fun in that??!!) This is the site of the old Eastbourne Workhouse.
