RNLI Visit!

In Year 1 History lessons we have been learning about the RNLI and how it was founded and the incredible work they have done over the years rescuing people. We looked at the heroine Grace Darling and how she initiated the idea of saving lives at sea. We were incredibly lucky that Mark Sawyer from the RNLI who is head coxswain (steers and controls the boat) could come in and visit our children. They were fascinated by what they learnt and loved seeing photos from the past of how the boats have adapted and improved over time. They enjoyed trying on the safety equipment; helmet, boots and life jacket and loved seeing Miss Giorgi dress up in the full gear.
