University for PE Scholars!
The restrictions this year have not stopped our Scholars opportunities!
Langney Year 6 PE Scholars last week got the opportunity to find out about the science behind the Olympic Games this year in Tokyo at the University of Brighton laboratories.
The children learnt and experienced what it will feel like for the athletes in a 35 degree heat chamber! They took part in track cycling exploring how much power they could produce and then measuring eye movements by saving some virtual penalty kicks.
A quote from one of our scholars: "I learnt that the weather in Tokyo for the Olympics is very hot and it will have a huge impact on our athletes ."
A huge thanks to Dr Nicholas Smeeton and his colleagues for an informative and memorable afternoon and to our impressive PE Scholars who were all fully engaged and willing to participate in all of the activities.
