Reception Maypole Dancing Workshop
All three of our Reception classes and their teachers had a fantastic time today learning the steps of a Maypole Dance. Maypole dance is a ceremonial folk dance performed around a tall pole garlanded with greenery or flowers and often hung with ribbons that are woven into complex patterns by the dancers.
After school workshops were also held for our Reception staff along with teachers from other schools. It was so successful we may consider starting a Maypole Dance Club after school next year.
