Year 5 - Term 5 Fabulous Finish

This term, Year 5 have been putting their chefs hats on it our weekly "Let's Get Cooking" lessons! They have been making lots of wonderful treats and finished by sharing their skills with their families.

During our penultimate lesson, we prepared a yummy tomato soup (we accidentally made so much that we could have fed the whole school!). As you can imagine, there was tomato juice flying everywhere! In our final lesson, we then made some delicious garlicy, herby bread. Some of us are still going to practise our skills as the 'finely chopped herbs' looked more like small trees! Nevertheless, it was still scrumptious! We accompanied the soup and bread with a summer punch with some interestingly chopped fruit in. We soon became aware that chopping may not have been one of our cooking strengths but flavour certainly was!

Towards the end of the afternoon, we invited our families in to try our culinary delights. Everyone was very brave at tasting what we'd made and even complimented our chef skills! We would like to say a big thank you to our families for joining us at our Fabulous Finish as it definitely made it a wonderful celebration of our learning.

We would also like to say a HUGE thank you to Mrs Harman and her wonderful helpers as without their expertise and support we would not be able to make such tasty treats (mainly because we don't trust Miss Post and Miss Paine to teach us to cook!). Thank you Mrs Harman!
