Moving Up Music!
Fifteen of our Bright Sparks Nursery children who will be starting school in September are going to have a head start through taking part in a fun, exciting music project. The project focuses on developing children's communication and school readiness through music. Children were joined by their parents for the first session last Friday, the 9th March, led by Ailsa from the East Sussex Music Service. The children will have weekly music sessions until the summer, and these will continue in the reception classes up until Christmas.
This builds on a Ready for School music project that we took part in last year in nursery and reception. The impact of the project on the communication skills and confidence of the children who took part has been astounding. So much so that the findings and good practice from the project are now being shared across the county and nationwide.
