Primary Space Day!

Year 5 have had such an exciting to start to the school year as we were invited to the Primary Space Day at the University of Sussex!

The day was action packed and full of truly amazing experiences from start to finish. We began with an informative session in a huge lecture theatre where we heard from inspiring people who work within the space industry. We also got the chance to see a real life Mars Rover model in action and we were even able to quiz the people who build and test them- it was amazing! In the pretend science laboratory, we explored chemical reactions, thermal imaging, drove a car powered by lavender oil and learnt about what would happen to our internal organs if we were an astronaut! What a brilliant day- hopefully it has inspired some scientists of the future!
