Yr6 Smugglers Trip!

On Monday, Year 6 met Hairy Jack (an infamous Hastings smuggler) who gave us a tour around the St Clement's Caves, showing us how they were used and giving us top smugglers tips! We ducked through tunnels, learnt about why smuggling became popular, what was smuggled and how - and we even learnt about the punishment if you were found to be a smuggler! We also were on the lookout for any ghosts, after hearing the caves were haunted! Luckily, nobody was lost in the cave and we all returned safely to Langney after a fantastic day immersing ourselves in our local history.
