A Love of ART at LPA

Our Langney Art Ambassadors and our Art Scholars collaboratively met today to plan, research and design some exciting Art projects and ideas for the school year through to term 6.

We then explored the school to look at our fantastic display and cupboard as well as the incredible Art we have around our amazing school. We confidently shared our ideas and listened to each demonstrating fantastic oracy skills. Some of our ideas included an outdoor art area, art clubs, an art gallery and trips, all very exciting.

We then learned about some incredible artists that we have here at Langney, not just the children but our amazing adults too. Did you know Miss Mills makes the most beautiful jewellery and Mr Pickford is a fantastic painter? We have so many incredible artists at Langney and the children were amazed and inspired by teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and our own caretaker.

We then made outdoor mosaics, used chalks to make portraits of each other and then had some creative chalk fun focussing on blending with chalk. Freya in year 4 was inspired by Kadinsky to create her piece using circles and colour and Penny, Sophia, Freya and Daisy were inspired by the rainbow we saw.

We are excited for our next project with using nature to draw and paint and creating mixed media art so watch this space.
