Secrets of the Forest!

Year 3 had a stunning start for their topic 'Secrets of the Forest' where they enjoyed making mini forests and landscapes through mixed media Art. The children had great fun using watercolours, collaging, tin foil, coffee and more to create some wonderful paintings. They then got to explore Art through emotions and music, reflecting on our wellbeing as part of our motto of having an 'Active Body, Healthy Mind' where we listened to different music and explored how it made us feel through Art. For the last part of the day we linked Maths, Art and the great outdoors to make a giant mosaic outside as well as using shapes and designing mosaics in class. The children also used nature to create natural outdoor Art, check out the faces and tree drawings. We had so much fun and loved to link Art to many areas of learning.
