Spanish Day 2022!

The sun shone brightly for us on Wednesday when we celebrated Spanish Day at LPA.

The atmosphere in school was fantastic, with everyone dressed in red and yellow, the colours of the Spanish flag. Each year group learned about an amazing Spanish cultural festival and created a piece of art to show in our Spanish procession on the field at the end of the day. Year 3 made castanets for the April Fair in Seville and learned about flamenco music and dancing. Year 4 made masks and moving fish for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival. Year 5 found out about the Tomatina tomato throwing festival near Valencia and made origami tomatoes. Year 6 were transported to the San Fermin festival in Pamplona and learned about the running of the bulls. They used all the incredible artistic techniques that they have learned over the year to create paintings of the event.

Well done everyone for showing so much enthusiasm on the day.

Viva España!
