Sussex Day!!

What a fabulous Sussex Day we had on 16 June!

Part of the Reception garden was turned into a beach where the children paddled and sat chatting under umbrellas in the sunshine; Year 1 and 2 created the most adorable miniature pieces of art of local landmarks that we will display in school, and Year 3 visited St. Richard's Church, guided all the way by Mr. Poston and his massive Sussex flag!!!

In Year 4, the children learnt how to play Stoolball; Year 5 children had a go at Morris Dancing and our Year 6s made literally hundreds of Sussex Plum Heavies (which created an amazing smell of cinnamon around the Sports Hall all week!)

Teachers were also looking out for examples of Perseverance so they could award special Sussex Day certificates showing the Martlets, mythical birds that can't land. Well done if you earned one of these special, limited edition certificates!

A great day, making some great memories. We wunt be druv!

"It was fun and exciting learning something I hadn't done before." Dexter

"It was amazing and relaxing, and trying to do a lot of things at the same time!" Jay
