Yr1 Parent MHWB Event

On Tuesday night, Year 1 teachers hosted a well being 'get together' event with a dash of phonics. Fun games were played, building towers, speed talking and delicious homemade cake along with scones, jam and clotted cream were enjoyed by all! 

Teachers shared some exciting phonics games, where the parents got to experience an example of a phonics lesson their child would be part of at school. We discussed Dan Hughes' 24 S's to support children's mental health. Parents loved the 'Run to a Word' game which got them 'walking sensibly' around the classroom. All parents approached the challenges with enthusiasm and good spirit.
